Mark your calendars! This 13th and 14th of September, a mammoth arts festival will be rolling into town…

With a free admission tag, come one, come all as hundreds of artistes invade the klpac grounds to bring you a giant buffet of all things artsy. From the contemporary to the traditional, mainstream to the experimental, expect to feast on something different at every turn and every corner.

The very first Yayasan Sime Darby Arts Festival produced in collaboration with klpac is a Malaysian community project that brings together artistes from Klang Valley and some from beyond to showcase the breadth and depth of the buzzing Malaysian arts scene. There will be performances, workshops, screenings, installations and a whole host of arts-related activities covering all genres such as dance, drama, music and visual arts.

The festival will open to the beat of hundreds of drums as they parade and make their way to klpac.

One of the highlights of the festival is a traditional showcase curated by Pusaka that will feature rarely seen traditional arts from each state such as the Kuda Kepang from Johor, the Wayang Kulit and Mak Yong from Kelantan and the Sumazau from Sabah.

Besides the plethora of activities during the day, there will be a free Gala performance on Sunday night with a special line up.
