No Cover Up

No Cover Up's poster

In December 1948, five months after the Malayan Emergency was declared, 7th Platoon, G Company, 2nd Scots Guards surrounded a rubber plantation at Sungai Rimoh near Batang Kali in Selangor. The civilians were then rounded up by the British soldiers. The men were separated from the women and children for interrogation and torture. The ruthless massacre then happened, which is known as Batang Kali Massascre or Britain’s My Lai.

This historical modern drama is about a fearless and undefeated journey of the victim’s family members pursuing justice against the British Government after 64 years. It is a documentary-drama theatre piece about the Batang Kali Massacre. This is the first work based upon a book written on this massacre – “No Cover Up” which described in details the indiscriminate killing of 24 unarmed villagers by British troops on 11 and 12 December 1948 during the Malayan Emergency and subsequent covered up by the British Government.
